Connection During Isolation
A recurring theme for the past few weeks is that we humans are wired for connection. The neuroscience is clear. We need each other. We need to be in connection.
In times of “social distancing”, this need is crying out to us. Some of my coaching colleagues are wishing for a different description—Physical Distancing—which has a different connotation than Social Distancing. We are creating new ways to connect while being physically distant. In addition to our virtual connections, we connect through smiles, waves, and acts of kindness toward strangers even at 6 feet or more apart.
We are also connecting with ourselves, possibly at deeper levels than we have dared to do for a while due to busyness and the everyday focus on the doings of our lives.
As you consider your path going forward, both one step at a time and into the future, what will you take with you with regard to connection?
Connection with your deeper and higher self?
Connection with those you love most?
Connection with strangers?
Connection with others who may have been previously invisible that serve and support you?
