Let’s Talk JOY

In continuing our focus on JOY – here are a few more possibilities for your consideration, and coming from my own book on Joy, first expressed over 37 years ago.

From the Three Hours to One Day section:

…sleep late and stay in PJs all day long
…address Christmas cards with notes to far away friends
…bake homemade bread

From the Two Day to Two Weeks section:

…go home to see my parents and brother
…go on a girls’ trip
…check into a hotel with the man I love

From the Three Weeks or More section:

…take a trip to Zermatt, Switzerland
…visit places I missed in Europe
…visit places I missed in Australia
…take a cruise to Alaska

If I were writing in this little book today, I would add several things that 37 years have impacted. I will have more experiences of acts of kindness. I will pray many prayers of thankfulness for the Joy of my work and the JOY of meeting so many amazing educators. After fifty years as an educator I truly believe that JOY has been the seed of my passion and endless energy for what I do.

As you consider the journey ahead in your life and work, how does JOY impact your mindset and attitude? What little things are you wanting to include in your day to bring JOY? What are the ways you will pamper yourself with JOY?

Remember.

Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.” Henri Nouwen

“Joy is a decision, a really brave one, about how you are going to respond to life.” Wes Stafford

Joy opportunities are endless. Joy opportunities are essential. Joy is like breathing.

Choose JOY. Choose happy.
Choose to shine!
